Residential and commercial hardwood work
We work on houses and on businesses across Lexington and central Kentucky — from a single room in a Chevy Chase bungalow to office and retail floors that have to be turned around without shutting the place down for a week.
Solid hardwood, engineered hardwood, and everything under it
Most of our work is solid hardwood, but the job usually starts below the surface. Sub-floor preparation, moisture testing, and removing whatever is already down — carpet, tile, vinyl or laminate — are all part of the service. Getting the substrate right is the difference between a floor that lasts decades and one that cups, gaps or squeaks in a couple of years.
Finishes: oil based and water based polyurethane
We offer both. Oil based polyurethane ambers slightly over time and gives a warmer, more traditional look with excellent durability. Water based polyurethane dries clearer and faster, with lower odour, which matters if you need to be back in the room quickly. We will walk you through the trade-off for your floor rather than defaulting to one.
